Here come the girls

There has been a lot discussed in the media, in businesses and organisations and in the gender space about equality and the pay gap.

There are a number of initiatives and organisations centered around offering women advice, tools and support to start up on their own, build self-esteem and re-align the perception of women in the working world, at home, or wherever in fact we we chose to be.

This Girl Can is a national campaign developed by Sport England and a wide range of partnership organisations. It’s a celebration of active women up and down the country who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets.

The Women’s Organisation is the largest developer and deliverer of training and support targeting women in the UK. Delivering services and projects across the world.
The National Alliance of Women’s Organisations (NAWO, founded 1989) is an umbrella organisation for over 100 organisations and individuals based in England. All members are concerned to ensure women gain access to their human rights, and to make equality between women and men a reality. Its diverse membership includes: single issue to specialist organisations, faith groups, health centres, arts-based organisations and others offering services and campaigning across a range of women’s concerns.

I for one, think that, we as women, should support whatever pathway women choose to take to reach their own goals, whatever these maybe. There should be no sociological or cultural barriers in place to stop or hinder. This is the type of message I hoped to convey with The Pink Tank, and you can read a little bit more about why The Pink Tank started and what I hope(d) I would evoke from readers when I started blogging here.
