Face bases under £4!

I usually go high-end when I'm foundation shopping, but the other day in Superdrug, I went on a drug store foundation spree to try a selection of powder foundations rather than liquids and here are my favourite face bases under £4!!!

The Pro Base Pressed Powder by MUA is a staggering £2.50 and available in six different shades. The coverage is as good as you can get with £2.50, but it definitely does the trick, and who would mind throwing one in your handbag?! The only downside, there's no sponge applicator. I used a Real Techniques stippling brush in circular motions to create an even base colour and it works a treat - I've started to wonder why I ever spent over £20 on the Estee Lauder Double Wear Powder!

The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and Ultimate Wear Powder are the perfect base staples at £3.99 each. The powder compact includes a mirror and sponge applicator so it is on-the-go perfect and although I find a brush application leaves a better finish, the sponge applicator is great for touch ups for shine-free skin throughout the day. The concealer has a very creamy consistency and gives full coverage under eyes and on blemishes. I do find the shades of the concealers a little pink-toned for my skin, so I use this a little more sparingly than some of my yellow or green toned concealers and then pat powder foundation over the top to ensure my base is even.

Here's what I have learned. Powder face bases under £4 are amazing. The coverage and look they give isn't really any different to the high-end products, and they are equally as portable but with the one bonus that they are so affordable!!

If you haven't tried these, I would definitely recommend these face bases, and if you have, let me know what you think of them!
