As an illustrator you need to have an aptitude for design, a degree or qualifications in art or graphic design would also stand you in good stead when you start. Your industry connections may prove invaluable as you develop your career & look for work. As an illustrator, its highly likely you will work as a freelancer, undertaking commissioned projects from brands & businesses so networking & pitching yourself to generate new business is vital! If you are interested in illustration as a career, check out illustrators like Sally Faye who has worked with companies like Burt's Bees & Glamour Magazine.

IT Worker
Industries rely so heavily on technology now, that IT & the people who know how to keep it all going are pivotal to any fashion, beauty or entertainment organisations success. If you are really into technology but love fashion or beauty, this might be a career for you. As an IT worker you could work across IT security, intranet platforms, retail support, and many other departments too! To get to work in the IT industry, it would stand you in very good stead to have an IT or computer science degree, additional understanding of social media or a technology blog would also be an added bonus too!
